Enterprise Architecture and HCG's Methodologies

Enterprise Architecture comprises of four perspectives:

Business perspective defines the processes and standards by which the business operates on a day-to-day basis. It represents the enterprise's most important work activities and assets. It shows what processes the organization performs and provides a framework that allows IT to map activities to business processes.

Application perspective defines the interactions among the business processes and standards used by the organization. It is through the applications that the business defines its functions and processes.

Information perspective defines and classifies the raw data (such as document files, databases, images, presentations and spreadsheets) that the organization requires in order to efficiently operate.

Technology perspective defines the hardware, operating systems, programming and networking solutions used by the organization.

HCG combines these four perspectives into one cohesive EA Roadmap for the client detailing the current state of the enterprise architecture and future architectural vision. The EA Roadmap serves to inform the organization about available enterprise tools, services and standards as well as the future direction of these services and standards. The approach HCG takes in preparing EA Roadmaps is unique to each client and expectations are set in the initial meetings.
